What is LNG?

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) is natural gas that has been cooled to around −162°C, changing its state from gas to liquid. This process reduces the gas volume by approximately 600 times, allowing LNG to be stored and transported more efficiently at low pressure.
LNG is colourless, odourless, non-toxic, and non-corrosive. In its liquid state, LNG does not ignite. It also offers a high heating value (approximately 52,000 BTU per kilogram) and can be a lower-carbon alternative to other fossil fuels.
